Gender Mainstreaming Policies for Government Officers – Summer 2023

The “Gender Mainstreaming Policies for Government Officers” training welcomed participants to Japan for the first time in four years.

The training was attended by nine participants from Mexico, Pakistan, the Maldives, Nepal, Fiji, the Marshall Islands, Kenya, Papua New Guinea, and Mali, and they were very active. Every day, they exchanged information about how to tackle gender issues in their countries and gave advice on each other’s action plans.

They attended an exchange event with local citizens titled “Move Festa 2023, Let’s talk with government officers around the world: Welcome to Gender Café.” At the event, many local citizens and the participants discussed specific gender issues such as cultural stereotypes of gender roles in each country, and tried to find solutions.
