KFAW implemented a country-focused training for the first time.
This training was postponed due to COVID-19, and the first part was set to start online after the methodology was reviewed.
The training was attended by 32 participants, who are Gender and Child Focal Points deployed in all 24 districts, staff members of CSOs and NGOs, or police officers. The National Commission For Women And Children (NCWC) made an effort to have this training for participants to gain necessary knowledge as social workers.
The training was realized because KFAW received a high evaluation from NCWC staff who attended a training in the past. It was also because KFAW kept in touch with past participants and had developed a trust relationship with them.
During the training, lockdown was issued in Bhutan. We were worried whether the training could continue, but managed to finish it because of swift discussion between NCWC and KFAW.
We thought of effective ways to make the large group of 32 members’ online training interactive, and used group discussions and also an online whiteboard during groupwork. It helped participants to express their opinions easily, and increased their motivation.
Hopefully, the 32 participants will come to Japan and attend training in Kitakyushu in the next fiscal year.
